    Pottery: Introduction and Creative Class: Practice your ceramics and pottery skills on this three hour evening-time course. Entry Criteria There are no formal entry requirements and the course is suitable for all abilities.

  • Chorleywood Community Art Centre 
    Ceramics, Sculpture, Moulding, Slab and Thrown pottery. Flexible groups with no set program. A great range of facilities including potters wheels, moulds, slips, oxides and glazes. No formal teaching but group guidance from experienced members. Clay can be purchased in the centre. Cost includes access to pottery wheels, oxides and glazes and firing of all ceramics.

  • Courtyard Arts 
    Courtyard Arts is a unique, artistic hub located in Hertford. Comprising two galleries and shop with two teaching studios. Suitable for both beginners and experienced adults. Individual assistance is given to help students realise projects in an informal atmosphere.     Pottery for All – Mixed Ability: Part-Time Evening – This is a practical course which aims to develop students skills, knowledge and ability to create their own pottery using a variety of making and decorating techniques.

  • Oaklands College 
    Pottery workshop courses covering basics in hand building and throwing (formal course structure; enquire for dates and fees).
    Pottery Workshop (experienced): This is a workshop activity where you will be creating your own pieces with support and guidance from the tutor. Beginners course (approximately 40 hours). The course aims to encourage you to produce pottery of a high standard, honing/ developing your skills, working at your own pace in a friendly and relaxed environment. You will cover the basics in clay preparation, (wedging and kneading), slab building, coiling, throwing i.e. centering/cylinders and turning and the use of slips and glazing techniques. Your individual needs will de discussed during the first lesson.

  • Queens Park Centre 
    We run classes throughout the week, giving students access to our fully-equipped studio spaces to learn and develop their skills in ceramics – whether sculpting, working at the wheel, or using hand-building techniques.
    We offer some classes that are specifically designed for beginners; Our weekly Tuesday Afternoon (throwing and handbuilding) and Thursday Afternoon (handbuilding only) classes plus a limited number of sessions at some of our intermediate classes.
