Join the Dacorum and Chiltern Potters Guild
We welcome your interest in joining this active community of volunteers with an interest in clay, pottery and ceramics. The DCPG members work hard to bring ceramics and the love of clay to the community and further the development of potters new and established.
Members volunteer to organise these activities and benefits for our members and the public:
- Regular group meetings from May to October – demonstrations and presentations by top contemporary ceramic artists
- Free quarterly newsletters – with articles about our activities, discounts from suppliers and a diary of up and coming events.
- Promotion of our work through DCPG Facebook & Instagram accounts
- The loan, for a token fee, of the DCPG wheels (2 x Shimpo and a Wenger) on a six monthly basis
- DCPG public demonstrations of wheel throwing and/or hand building at community clay events
- Access to wood, raku, soda and other alternative firings – managed in subgroups by members
- Access to a comprehensive Library of pottery books to borrow at our monthly meetings to extend your knowledge
- Opportunity to take part in our annual Members’ Competition
- An annual Members’ Exhibition and other opportunities to display and sell work
- An annual Potters Open Day (POD) event – a full day of lectures, demonstrations and chat with world leading potters
- Monthly coffee mornings and other social events where you can meet members and chat about clay (and other things)

We are asking for bank transfer payments only, as paypal costs us money to process. Please email treasurer@dcpg.org.uk if you need help with payment and we will help you individually. Please reference your payment with the word ‘Membership’ and don’t forget to fill out your form.
Annual Membership Fees From 1st October 2026
- Single Person: £32
- Green* Single Person: £25
- Family (more than one person living at same address): £42
- Green* Family (more than one person living at same address): £37
- Full-Time Student Under 25 years: £10
*Green members will receive the newsletter by email rather than a paper copy.
Subscriptions are due for renewal from 1st October each year and are valid for 12 months. However, new memberships purchased after our March POD will be valid until 30 September the following year.
